Feminism versus Multiculturalism

Feminist ideology and the effect it has had upon society
About this forum
This is an example of one thread - Feminism - which has recently been turned into its own subforum. Thus we are currently breaking that very interesting, but very long, thread into sub-discussions where appropriate. This will leave the original thread with a lot of views while the new threads will apparently have fewer. They'll begin to catch up though.

Feminism versus Multiculturalism

The latter triumphs the former (a thousand times).

A relatively unspectacular example. The discussion board of a leftist German news paper. A young Turkish man writes how the daughters of Germans (for whom he uses an ugly word) turned him down when he wanted to go out with them. Assumes that racism might be the only reasons... but prides himself how he overcame that racism, how he encountered humiliation with clemency and charity... and so on.
The commenter gets a "recommendation" by the editorial department and also some recommendations from other readers/commentors.

He seems to assume that
a) every girl must want to date a guy as gorgeous as him or she is racist
b) if he insults their fathers/their ethnicity the girls still want to go out with him unless they are racist

I noticed other immigrants behaving very similar. Some seem to see you as game only there to serve their needs...

...and of course there is the extreme cases of girls being groomed and women being gang-raped.

To put it in other words: Some seem to see women totally as their possesion and if the women disagree that seems to be a crime. They must show "mercy" at the offender.

No! Turning a guy down should be every girls right (and of course vice versa) and nothing she must feel sorry or bad for.

It makes my blood boil to see how man-hating leftists totally forget about womens rights as soon as minorities are involved.

Oh yes, we know here from the Rotherham case that keeping the multiculti façade going was more important than the welfare of 1400 girls.

Here's just one Guardian article outraged at British people who point out Islamic cultures' poor record on women's rights, saying they are actually just being racist.

We are the fools, if we believe that accepting aggressive distinctions between nice, safe western sexism and scary, heathen Muslim sexism is going to serve the interests of women. The people making these arguments don't care about women. They care about stoking controversy, attacking Muslims and shouting down feminists of all stripes.

Well there are big differences between Western sexism (such as... say... cracking sexist jokes) and stoning women to death because they had the misfortune of being raped (and the perp declined to marry them).
Everybody who does not see the difference must be blind on both eyes...

...and for the argument "but it has nothing to do with culture/religion". When was the last time a women was put to death for being raped, wearing nail-polish or dancing in a Western society?

Some liberals in discussions like to point out that people were killed for similar reasons in the middle ages. That's very reassuring indeed because it shows radical Islam might need "only" 800 years to grow out of it.

I am not writing here on behalf of Muslim women, who can and do speak for themselves, and not all in one voice.

Unfortunately many Muslim women are denied the right to speak for themselves by their fathers, husbands and their countries. In Islam the punishment for apostasy is death - what would happen to a woman who wants to leave Islam because she considers it misogynistic?

There's no doubt that anti-racism trumps anti-sexism. The Rotherham scandal has demonstrated this in crystal clear terms. 1400 (underage) females were allowed to be raped if it meant the police and council could avoid getting accused of being racist. The suffering of those girls was not important, compared with the potential hurt feelings of brown men.

It's going to be interesting how this plays out. These sorts of incidents - brown and black men being brutal towards white women - are going to get more and more common. How will feminists respond, to the new development of them not coming first? Judging by their reaction to Rotherham, they will not respond at all. Look for a feminist article about it. You will struggle to find one.

Which suggests, to me at least, that feminism has never really been about knocking the patriarchy or correcting men's terrible attitudes towards women. It has only ever been about knocking white patriarchy and correcting white men's terrible attitudes towards women. Faced with non-white men whose attitudes towards women are medieval, feminists themselves are almost completely silent.

Rotherham has been very educative, in all sorts of ways. Not only do PC bureaucrats forget about feminism when race rears its head: so do feminists.
